Mike McFerrin, a Texas native, has been an avid archery hunter for over twenty years. He has taken numerous Pope & Young trophy whitetail bucks, including the Texas state record velvet buck that scored 215 3/8 gross and 197 5/8 net. He has volunteered his time with the Texas Youth Hunters Program in cooperation with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, and serves as an official Texas Big Game Awards scorer. Mike resides in Kingwood, TX with his wife, Bonnie & children Christian, MaKenna, & Georgia-Kate.
Raised in the great state of Texas, Bonnie and Mike married in 1994 and while she knew about his love of the outdoors, she never intended to hunt for herself. Bonnie has harvested several Pope & Young bucks, including the current Texas state record for a female archer, which scored 195 5/8 taken in 2008. Mike and Bonnie have appeared on Outdoor Channel in two different television series prior to hosting Legends of the Fall.
